Denton and Reddish - Andrew Gwynne

2.) Andrew was very happy to support the Pankhurst campaign, he’s aware that Manchester currently has no statues of women other than Queen Victoria, in Piccadilly Gardens, he wants more visible commemorations of women.

Margaret Bondfield

I am the current Chair of the Co-operative Party, and Margaret
Bondfield has long been a political hero of mine. She was one of the
first MP's from the co-op movement elected to Parliament in 1918, and
became the first female cabinet member when she was appointed Minister
of Labour in 1929. She was a powerful advocate in the fight for
workers' rights, and an active member of the Women's Co-operative
Guild which was campaigning for minimum wage legislation, an
improvement in child welfare and action to lower the infant mortality
rate. A statue would be a fitting tribute.

Hove - Peter Kyle

I sympathise with your campaign. I have campaigned – and aim to deliver – a memorial to Margaret Bondfield, our country’s first woman minister and cabinet minister. She was an apprentice in Hove and I’ve tracked down the shop she spent those years in, and want the location marked appropriately.
